SF rises to the top
An update of the table of bike share system sizes relative to city scales I posted two weeks ago shows how San Francisco shoots through the ranks with yesterday’s announcement.
Mayor Ed Lee said the city will expand its system more than ten-fold, from 400 to 4,500 public bicycles. The plan will take San Francisco from the pack of U.S. bike share also-rans to a scale so far known only in China and leading cities in western Europe. It may well provide the foundation for the most advanced bicycle transportation system in North America.
